Desmond and Anthony were...

Desmond and Anthony were incredibly knowledgeable about the culture of Hawaii and specifically Hilo. It was a wonderful tour - we appreciated the visuals they had on a screen overhead as well as the opportunity to physically see and touch pieces of history and their culture. They were also very accommodating and went out of their way to insure that everyone was safe and comfortable. They even provided fresh fruit in a basket as a snack and Desmond gave us Macadamian Honey that his friend had just made. They went above and beyond in a way we have never experienced on a tour before. We were very lucky to get Desmond and Anthony as our tour guides! We thank them so very much and appreciated spending the day in Hilo with them. They were truly the best!

Great way to spend a day.

This was a great tour, we headed to Volcano National Park and Rainbow Falls. Our guide was Cousin Ernie and we was Fabulous, He took us to Volcano National Park first to he beat the crowds so we had plenty of time. We then made out way back to Hilo were he showed us more sights, and we had plenty of free time to grab lunch and shop. Ernie, being a native to the Big Island had prenty of information to share. I would do this tour again.

Do not miss this tour!!!

We took this tour with Big Mike today ( owner/operator) Big Mike picked us up at the Hilo port where our cruise ship ,Pride Of American, docked. No Uber or taxi needed! He was prompt, his van was impeccably clean, and he gifted each one in our group a beautiful handmade eyelash lei. Big Mike knows his stuff, he schooled us on history, flora and fauna. We visited the Volcano Park , Rainbow Falls plus another "hidden" waterfall, sea turtles, black sand beaches, King Kamehameha statue, farmers market. We had lunch at an amazing restaurant that I think only locals know about Big Mike is funny and obviously passionate about his Island. The tour was worth every cent and after conferring with other cruise guests, much better. Do not miss out!

Very easy to find the...

Very easy to find the tour guide at the Hilo cruise terminal and Josh was an excellent guide. Rainbow Falls is very pretty but I’m originally from Buffalo, NY so Niagara Falls makes me pretty biased on the magnificence of other falls. Great experience at Volcanoes National Park, and I enjoyed the brief stops at the Gardens and macadamia nut factory.

Katelynn was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience enjoyable. She answered all of our questions with patience and shared so much interesting information about the volcanoes, the island, and the local history. The scenery was absolutely incredible, and having a private tour allowed us to explore at a comfortable pace without feeling rushed. Once in a lifetime tour!!!!!

Mahalini tours were great! Our tour guide had cold water available during the tour. He was very knowledgeable and rearranged the tour order so we were able to beat the crowds. We were very fortunate to see Kilaleua erupt. So magnificent!!!!! Every part of tour was great. The tour guide was friendly and answered questions fully. I would highly recommend. So sorry I did not get guides name. He took great care of us!!!@

This was my kind of tour

We really had a great tour with Holley. She did her best to arrange our tour to avoid rain. Hilo weather just did cooperate though and it rained a lot at each of our stops around Hilo. Holley went out her way to make us comfortable and to make sure we had umbrellas at the rainy stops. The umbrellas made a big difference and more than once I was asked where we found the umbrellas. Other passengers from our cruise ship recognized us. (We are finishing a 54 day cruise with them.). We were so glad that we had this tour as opposed to the ones offered by the ship. There were five guests on our tour. We were very comfortable in the van. The falls were very nice especially Akaka falls. The part of the tour in Volcanos National Park was everything I could have hoped for (other an active eruption, but that just bad timing on our part). The time spent at each location easily met our needs and expectations. The weather was perfect in the park with excellent visibility. Holley is a knowledgeable and pleasant tour guide. We highly recommend this tour and Holley as your guide.

One of the Best

You will learn so much about the cycles and effects of active volcanoes from your guide who has lived on the island all her life. She also shares her vast knowledge about the lush vegetation, domestic and wild animals. Her vehicle for the small group tour was comfortable and exactly what we expected. We all agreed this was one of the best excursions!

Great tour

Great tour. Rich was an amazing guide. Very nice and knowledgeable. Rainbow falls and boiling pots was nice, it was raining heavily at these 2 locations which kind of added to the appeal for me (bring a poncho and good non slippery shoes for such a rainy day). We did not do solar gazing, just stargazing. We saw stars, the moon, Saturn, Jupiter, star clusters, Orion Nebula and andromeda galaxy with the telescope. It was great. The location of the stargazing was amazing too.
