Discover one of Sri Lanka’s most mysterious and untouched heritage sites on this Ritigala Forest Tour from Habarana. Escape the crowds and journey into the heart of the Ritigala Strict Nature Reserve, a sacred mountain forest rich in ancient history, biodiversity, and serene landscapes. Ritigala is home to the ruins of an ancient Buddhist monastery dating back over 2,000 years, hidden deep within a cool, mist-covered forest. Accompanied by an experienced local guide, explore stone pathways, meditation platforms, reservoirs, and monastic ruins while learning about the legends, medicinal plants, and spiritual significance of this sacred site. This tour is ideal for nature lovers, history enthusiasts, photographers, and travelers seeking an off-the-beaten-path experience. The forest offers a refreshing climate, diverse birdlife, endemic flora, and peaceful surroundings—making it a perfect contrast to Sri Lanka’s more popular attractions.

Embark on a full-day journey that blends thrilling wildlife safaris with authentic village life. Start with a morning safari in one of Sri Lanka’s top national parks, Minneriya, Hurulu, Kaudulla, or Gal Oya — spotting elephants and vibrant birdlife. Then, immerse yourself in rural charm at Hiriwadunna village, enjoying a traditional lunch, a bullock cart ride, and a peaceful catamaran cruise. End the day with a second safari in a different park, capturing the magic of Sri Lanka’s wild beauty at sunset.
