3 Days in Breckenridge for First Timers
While most people plan their visits to Breckenridge to take advantage of its high elevation and excellent ski conditions, I like to visit in the fall when the air is crisp, and the temperature is perfect for mountain biking and hiking. The town's vibrant food scene always impresses me, and I love that its unassuming breweries serve comforting beef stroganoff and chili on cold days.
If you have three days in Breckenridge, spend some time shopping and dining along Main Street, head above the city to take in the mountain views, and tour the Country Boy Mine to learn about the area's gold rush history. Breckenridge has a vibrant arts scene, and you can make creations to take home.
If you only have time for one thing, visit Isak, the 15-foot (4.5-meter) Breckenridge Troll.
Warm summer days and cold nights mean you should wear layers when visiting Breckenridge.
Biking in Breckenridge is a great way to see the area, so you'll want to rent a mountain bike for your stay. Check out the trails leaving right from Main Street, or follow the paved Blue River Recreation Path if you are looking for something kid-friendly.
