The French-inspired rose garden is a popular sight among visitors with a green thumb.

Places are limited on the few house tours provided and are best booked in advance. Guided convict tours should be reserved ahead of time, too. Each tour lasts around 50 minutes.

If the estate is a stop on a longer road trip through the region, you can book a night’s stay at one of its six historic cottages.

An on-site restaurant, The Eleanor, serves produce grown locally.
