The sights by far beat our expectations! It was a long day, but every place visited raised our awareness of the beauty all around us! Just when we thought we had seen the best after visiting the volcano at a mid station, what a surprise to visit the National Park and see the incredible waterfalls! Highly recommended!

The tour guide Riccardo was knowlegable and very helpful during the tour. He met us promptly at the port terminal even though some of our fellow travellers were late . There were only 14 of us but a large coach was provided which made it more comfortable. We would highly reccomend this tour and Yellow Penguin.

Wonderful locations but tour took longer than 5 hours.

Good tour, but we had to ask to have it cut short as it overran and we did not want to be late for our cruise departure. We could not visit the Lake town, but after 6 hours we had seen enough. The tour was supposed to be only 5 hours.

A wonderful day. Our guide, Ricardo, was local and knowing the weather conditions was able to plan our tour so we had superb views of Osorno and also to be ahead of crowds arriving on other tours. It was a busy day so be sure to be well fed before you leave for the tour as there was limited time to get food, especially if you wanted to enjoy the scenery. Comfortable walking shoes also recommended.

We turned up at the allotted time (8.30) but had to wait until 9.45 to start the experience. A number of guest were told to meet at 8.30 and others 9.30, so a complete shambles. We were then told that we would have limited time at each location which affected the whole experience. The company blamed the high volume of passengers etc, but this could not have been a surprise as ships visit all the time, however, it was clearly the fact we were giving different times to meet in the terminal. It has made us question whether we will use Viator in the future. On a positive note the guides English was very good and he explained in detail what we needed to know. I have to say however that it was not value for money to rushed and we never had time to explore the last stop which was a very pleasant seaside resort

It didn’t start well. We were not on the list even if we had tickets. After that, the bus wouldn’t start (battery problem). As per description,the tour would last for 5-51/2 hours. The guide told us ca 6 hours. In the end we managed to get back just ca 25 min. before the last tender to our ship. Not enough margin in my opinion. When this is said, the tour and the guide was great

Osorno Volcano

Volcano trip was excellent. We also locally purchased cable car trip up the Volcano. This was the best decision. We would have liked to have more time for this part of the trip as it takes an hour for the cable car round trip alone!

No way to greet guests. Tour guide was great. Yellow Penguin tours, I would not reccomend

We were told when we would be met at the dock. No one was there. We went into the terminal which had many people with signs for scheduled tours. None were for Yellow Penguin. No one we asked knew where their bus was. We found it behind the back of the terminal. There was no one to meet us. Someone in our group was told that Someone from Yellow Penguin had been there but left. our instruction was would meet the bus at 8:30 am. At 9:15 am, the tour guide was waiting for some people who had scheduled, but had not shown up. Then, we could not leave the terminal because the busses battery died. 30 minutes later, another bus came and jumped started our bus. 4 passengers got off the bus after an hour of sitting there. Our guide, Riccardo, once we were finally able to leave, was wonderful. He was personable, knowledgeable and fun. We ended up having a wonderful excursion.

On that particular day, with two cruise ships arriving at the port simultaneously, the situation became more challenging while our team worked to quickly resolve the issue and arrange a replacement bus so the tour could still operate. To help compensate for the delay and the inconvenience, we added an additional stop at the Red Crater, which was not originally included in the itinerary, so that guests could still enjoy a complete and memorable experience. Great Itinerary!

Our tour guide and bus driver were exceptional! We got more than we bargained for according to the description on Viator’s website. The only issue I can think of was a bit of problem with the microphone going in and out, but other than that, it was wonderful. We loved going to Osorno volcano, and Petrohué Falls. Our tour guide gave us extra tips for making the most of the experience. This is not a reflection on the tour guide, but Viator‘s description and Yellow Penguins descriptions did not exactly match up. Neither did the times of the trip. We had two who booked through yellow penguin who were given a different time than Viator gave us. It caused a bit of delay in our departure. I don’t believe the Viator one mentioned the falls, which were a huge highlight for us. Suggestion would be to have more accurate descriptions. Also, our tour guide did not seem to know how to contact anyone about the two that were late. Better coordination would have been appreciated. The two that were late were on time according to yellow penguin but late according to our time and our guide did not seem to know how to contact them.

The guide’ s language skills left a lot to be desired. Her English was terrible and accent very thick. She didn’t understand questions The stop at Petrohue falls was too brief. We had 35 min. Which included standing in line to buy tickets $9 U.S. my wife walks with a cane and knew she would be unable to do the walk to and from the falls in the time slotted so stayed at the park entrance. The step up into the van was a struggle for more than a couple of passengers, no portable step was provided as most drivers provide.

Nothing in the description said we would go up the volcano to the ski area. From there you can take the chair lift up a little ways. Or hike the trail. Or stay in the cafe have coffee and empanadas. The waterfall park tour is just buy a ticket with your credit card, and walk 1000 meters down the trail to overlook platforms. Can't get so close to the waterfall, but you get the idea what it's like. There were a couple stops along the drive to take photos. Then a drive through Puerto Varas, which is the nice town in the area. I think I would have taken the other tour that visited the german settlement. Not much around Puerto Montt. Tour guide described port area as run down, and it was.

While the trip itself was much more economical than the one offered by the cruise ship, I was concerned about the safety of the bus and the experience of the driver. The bus was alarming throughout most of the trip up to the volcano. Our tour guide told us not to worry. It was just a water issue. We ended up stalling out and losing power several times up the very steep switchbacks at the base of the volcano. I asked if we could transfer to another bus but was told there were none available. The tour guide said she requested a new bus be waiting for us at our next stop at the national park. She later said it was not the bus, but rather the driver not shifting out of manual???? When we left the volcano to head for the park, there were more alarm notifications on the driver dashboard. We also did not get a new bus at the park. The anxiety surrounding the safety of the vehicle really took away from the experience.

Gorgeous scenery and a great guide

Time spent on the bus is filled with interesting history and information on the area. Stephanie is fun and knowledgeable. We were impressed with her language skills, shifting back and forth between English and Spanish so easily. Buying tickets for the falls went quickly and the experience is worth it for both the waterfalls and the volcano view.

We took this tour off a cruise ship that was in town for the day. A great value and perfect alternative to the cruise ship tours. We saw some excellent sites and while I wish we had more time at each site, it was just enough to see it all. Maria, our guide, was informative and very accommodating! She was excellent. Highly recommend taking this tour, especially if you are here on a day stop from a cruise ship!

Great tour run by great company

We’re very late due to Princess’s water shuttle arrangement (two hours late). We were so worried. But Yellow Penguin not only waited us but also kept communicating with us insuring that we’ve been taken care of. That was very helpful to customers like us who’ve never experienced such a delay by the ship. The shore excursion itself with two hours less than originally designed was a big success. Our tour guide Stephany and our driver Christian were so good. They managed the time perfectly such that we not only visited the beautiful national park but also the volcano itself, so wonderful, so beautiful! And on the way Stephany kept telling us a lot of interesting stories about the area, very informative, knowledgeable and professional! Yellow Penguin and her agents are the best, all of them!
