The tour guide tailored our tour specifically for us. He took us to all of the places we wanted to see. He was a safe driver, provided great information and historical insights. The van was clean and comfortable. The air conditioner was working perfectly in the van. We stopped and had a delicious lunch along the way.

Amazing possibility to get to know Barbados on your terms, pace and needs. Our guide/driver O'Donovan was the most knowledgeable and service oriented person. All our questions were replied. Excellent English. Comfortable car was also provided. Communicating on pick up was clear and no issues whatsoever occurred. Very highly recommended tour!

Guide drove to most of the island on a four hour tour. Made only one stop. The tour guide narrative during the tour was good but would have been preferred making more stops rather than a moving vehicle description of what was currently seen. Was not able to meet up the the guide as scheduled as he waited outside the Bridgetown Cruise Terminal to meet rather entering the terminal area where most of the tour vans and taxis were picking up passengers

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We truly appreciate it and would like to offer some clarification for context.
Regarding the meeting point, it is clearly noted on the homepage of our TripAdvisor listing that we are not permitted to enter the Bridgetown Cruise Terminal, as only authorised seaport taxis are allowed inside. Guests are therefore required to exit the port and meet us just outside the main gates. This information was also sent to your inbox prior to arrival, along with the driver’s contact number, and our driver reiterated this on the day. Unfortunately, this restriction is beyond our control.
In relation to the tour experience, our tours are fully customisable within the booked time. During the tour, you indicated to the driver that you were feeling tired, which he understood as a preference to limit stops and continue with a more relaxed drive while still providing narration and island highlights. At any point during the four-hour window, you were welcome to request additional stops or changes to the itinerary, and we would have been happy to accommodate.
We are sorry that these aspects did not feel as clear as intended and regret that your experience did not fully meet expectations. That said, we truly value your feedback and would be delighted to welcome you back for another visit, where we can deliver the full experience tailored exactly to your preferences.

We tried reaching out to the driver at our tour start time via text and calls after his pickup location was very difficult to find. He did not respond. Had we known we had to go through the blue port gate we might have been able to find him easier. We never got a response and one of the port security reps tried to call for us as well from his phone with no answer. We did finally find him and he seemed very angry with us and condescending that we as first time visitors to the island could not find him. The booking stated water included but that never happened
He did take us to the locations we requested but conversation was limited and difficult to hear due to the condition of the vehicle. . We had to struggle with the door. There were no seatbelts. We had to request AC to be turned on. There was no local history info offered. As a tour guide we expected history or information about the island but got nothing so we felt it was just a glorified taxi ride.

I think this is a good way to see the island but you’re not with a tour guide it’s more like you have a taxi driver so I feel that this tour you have to know more details of the area a little better . I don’t believe my driver knew much about detail of the island. But he wasn’t a tour guide He was a taxi driver. He was fantastic for driving He helped take pictures and drove me around. I was very safe, but this tour was just about driving around the island. If I had some questions I needed to ask I don’t think he knew the answers. I actually had to Google some areas. He was an excellent driver. Unfortunately, we drove to a cave that was closed, and it was on the tour list. This should’ve been known before I set out on this four hour tour. In fact, all of the roads started to look the same. Not sure if I recommend this tour, but I would definitely recommend the driver to drive me around because he’s fantastic, but the tour sucks.

Beware. They don't tell you it's in USD. Their advertising is misleading. We canceled the same day we booked but they refused to refund our money.

Tripadvisor (Viator) is an international company, and all tours listed on their platform are quoted in USD. This is clearly stated at the top of the booking page, and all our guests who book through the platform are informed of this upfront.
Regarding your cancellation, we immediately advised Tripadvisor to process your refund, as we have no reason to withhold funds for a service that was not provided. Refunds are managed directly by Tripadvisor, and once we were notified, we supported your request.
We regret any misunderstanding and hope this provides clarity. Our goal has always been to deliver excellent service and honest communication to all our guests.

Having a half day with a driver is a good way to see the island. We were hoping for someone who could tell us a bit of history, show is the highlights and give us a feeling for what life on the Island is like. Our driver was friendly but clearly wanted us to have the itinerary. While I had not done a lot of research I was able to tell him about some of our interests which he included. It was a LOT of driving through not such interesting areas to see some highlights of Bridgetown, one church and a garden. We appreciated the air conditioning.

We wanted to set up a customized private tour to take us around Barbados from the cruise ship docks to the airport with our luggage, having only about 4 1/2 hours. In an email thru Viator beforehand, I gave J&B places we wanted to visit & they arranged the route so that we hit all the high spots we had time to see. Cost was about the same as the ship's briefer group tour. Expert driver & tour guide!

My spouse and I took this marvelous tour on our visit to Barbados. The information provided by our driver Shawn was extremely interesting, useful, and fun. He did a great job taking us safely to see all of the beautiful and historic highlights of the island. The vistas in Barbados are magnificent and he ensured we could take photos when we wanted to. He answered all of our questions about Barbados and he took the time to stop and experience each highlight. We even stopped at a bakery where the scent drew us inside for tasty local treats. He was extremely professional and accommodating. We highly recommend this tour and we plan to return to Barbados in the future. It is one of our favorite islands with a great vibe.

Booked the private tour your company, I was contacted by someone via email and wanted to schedule the tour time earlier in the day which we were fine with. Driver was late for the agreed pick up time, got worse from there. The driver didn't really want to do the tour. First we asked for recommendations on places to see. He really didn't have any suggestions so pulling up the map online I requested a specific beach on the opposite side of the island and was told by the tour operator/driver that the road was closed and could not see that side of the island. It seemed like he really did not want to honor any of my requests. The conclusion of our tour he hit rush hour traffic any was really agitated and went over the four hours that was already paid and insisted we owed for the fifteen minutes we basically sat in traffic. If I would have to rate your company based upon this experience I would probably not book through Viator for future vacation excursions:(

We are sorry you feel this way about our service, However, we wish to clarify some of the points made in your review. We do accept that an adjustment was made to your requested time, based on our knowledge of Friday traffic. At 2 p.m., traffic in Barbados is very ridiculous and therefore, in our estimation, you would have spent the majority of your tour in traffic, rather than sightseeing.
It was on that basis that we recommended an earlier time of 10:30 a.m. in our initial response to your email.
However, it took four calls to your hotel, as well as a followup email before we could actually confirm the time with you. By then, it was 10:15 a.m. and it took our driver another 20 minutes before he reached you at 10:40 a.m.
We apologize for the 10-minute delay.
As it relates to your tour, you visited George Washington House, St Michael, the Usain Bolt Track, St Michael, you did the Mount Gay Rum Tour, also visited the Hilton Hotel and its environs, the beach at Carlisle Bay, St Michael, Folkestone National Park, St James, Mullins Bay, St Peter and the Animal Flower Cave in St Lucy.
During the four hour tour, you also asked to visit Bathsheba, St Joseph so that you could walk on the beach and enjoy the water. However, our driver suggested that the west coast beaches were better for walking purposes as the sea at Bathsheba can be very rough at times.
With that said, at no point did our driver deny you the opportunity to visit Bathsheba. He simply made a recommendation based on your request for a beach where you can walk closer to the sea and enjoy the water.
This is why you ended up at Mullins Beach. In fact, when you got there, you said to the driver that you loved this beach and you actually stayed there for well over an hour, even having something to eat at this location.
You left there and visited the Animal Flower Cave where you enjoyed the view, the sheep that were in the area and even told our driver you wanted to throw small rocks into the sea to see who can throw the farthest, which you did. You even expressed interest in buying land in the area to build a hotel as there was none on that side of the island.
You also took pictures, which we posted on our site as an indication of how much you were enjoying your tour.
We are therefore disappointed with your review of the tour which ended 15 minutes beyond the scheduled time. We also apologize unreservedly for any misunderstandings which occurred along the way.

We were smart to hire this private tour. Having lived on the island for many years, our guide knew just how to help us escape from the cruise crowds and she tailored our trip to see some of the finest views on the island. The historical and cultural information she provided was enlightening and entertaining. Good luck to your team at Carnival in Feb....I'm confident you will be the shining star!
