Overview
See a side of Bangkok that most travelers don’t get to see as you cruise along the canals of Thonburi. Set sail along the klong (canals) of the Chao Phraya River in a traditional longtail boat and enjoy a glimpse of local life in the Thonburi district of Bangkok. Enjoy up to two hours on the water and stop to visit Baan Silapin (The Artist’s House) and Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen.

The meeting point is at the bus stop opposite Elefin Coffee and the Bangkok Bank branch on Maha Rat Road, just a short walk south of Wat Pho. Our guide will be waiting at the bus stop. Please make sure to arrive on time, since we can only wait up to 10 minutes past the scheduled meeting time.

Get a glimpse of local life in Bangkok on this guided tour of the Thonburi district’s canals by traditional longtail boat. Lasting around 2 hours, and with your choice of departure times throughout the day, it’s easy to fit in your schedule.
Meet your licensed English speaking guide near Wat Pho and walk together as a group to board your longtail boat. Soak up the sights and scenes of local life as you cruise along the canals.
At Baan Silapin (The Artist’s House), you’ll have enough time to walk around the historic and restored wooden house and learn more about Thai culture. The boat tour also passes by the Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen, with a stop to take photos of the temple’s massive Buddha statue.
The tour ends back at the departure point.

- The most convenient way to reach the meeting point, and avoid Bangkok’s often congested road traffic, is by taking the MRT (metro) to Sanam Chai Station. From there, take the 'Museum Siam' exit. The meeting point is just a short 5-minute walk from the station.
- Please note that during the tour, we may experience a wait at one of the water locks, which regulate canal levels. These operate on no fixed schedule and are beyond our control.
- Bangkok’s traffic can be heavily congested. As our tours run on a group basis, we can wait a maximum of 10 minutes after the scheduled meeting time. After this grace period, the guide will begin the tour. If you cannot make it on time, please let us know before the tour starts. If possible, we’ll do our best to reschedule you for the next available time slot or day, though a rescheduling fee will apply. No refund will be provided in case of late arrival.
- Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the tour start time are eligible for a full refund. For cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance or in case of no-show, no refund will be issued.
- Our tours operate rain or shine, as tropical rain showers in Thailand usually don’t last long. If it rains heavily, we try to seek shelter and will continue as soon as the weather improves. During the rainy season, it’s a good idea to bring a raincoat or poncho. Please note cancellations due to weather are not eligible for a refund.
- Not recommended for travelers with mobility issues, as boarding and disembarking the boat may be difficult due to the lack of stairs at the piers.
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 300 travelers

An enjoyable morning and was a great way to explore Bangkok. My children enjoyed the stop at the Artist Village, particularly feeding the fish and making bracelets. I felt like our tour guide was very good for the first half, however was a bit quiet and didn't really provide much information after the Artist Village stop. I'm still glad we did it, it just wasn't as easy to understand or as informative as other tours we have done.

Nice way to see many sites along the canal. It was interesting to review the contrast of temples and Buddhist statues along with the personal residences on the canal. We also stopped at one location to walk around and see some of the sites there.

We had a lovely time touring the back canals of Bangkok. We got to see a whole side of the city we never even knew existed. More authentic Bangkok. We saw a giant golden Buddha statue from the river and got awesome pictures and videos. We got to stop at a local market along the canals and found so many souvenirs for so cheap made locally!! Surina was an amazing guide!!

The tour was ok. Extremely hot outside but you get to see the local part of the canal which was interesting. Recommend going earlier so that it’s not as hot.

The canal tour was awesome, taking you back through areas of Bangkok you wouldn't see any other way. The tour guide made sure we knew where prices would be inflated for tourists, and warned us of a couple scams that are common around Bangkok. A little more time at the market on the canal would have been nice, but all in all a great tour.

Excellent tour with Bella. She was kind, prompt, and attentive. You are not on the boat for 2 hours (which I appreciated) but you get good sights… especially Big Buddha. The artist block is nice and chill. Many of the stores ask that you take your shoes off so bring socks. The shops are very cute and carry an array of items. Definitely stop to get a smoothie treat… the mango passion is DELICIOUS!
