Excellent tour that takes you into the key sights in Oxford: the Divinity School, Christ Church, and some of the colleges. Our guide Will was informative, funny and kept us all engaged. I liked the fact that it was a small group, so we could ask questions. It was also nice to hear from a student about life at Oxford Uni. Worth it!

Very friendly and knowledgeable guide. Talked about the history of Oxford and how it ties into the current University. I have an appreciation of why it stands out amongst other academic institutions.

Great Tour for Those on a Short Visit

My kids and I were in Oxford for only a short weekend and this tour allowed us to see so much of the Oxford campus as well as the city. Our guide was a graduate student and shared so many insightful things about the university and campus life, which my high schooler really enjoyed.

    Great way to see Oxford!

    I learnt so much

    Helen_D, Jul 2026
I was so happy I chose the 3 hour tour that includes the self guided tour of Christ College for the last hour. We had to wait for the dining hall to open after lunch service but it was worth it. It was good to include Oxford Colleges and other points of interest as everything on my list was mentioned or shown during the tour. I went back to some places later to have another look. Our guide Thorstein was amazing. He welcomed everyone in our small group and shared his knowledge and passion for history throughout. This tour gave me a great overview of Oxford past and present in a matter of hours. You could look at things as they were being explained to you. I

A great way to see and learn about so many of the top sites of Oxford. Using guides who are current or recent Oxford students is a brilliant idea as their personal experience brings an extra layer of insight and fun. Our guide Thorstein was fantastic - very personable and funny, and full of stories on the history, architecture and people who have created and been part of Oxford. We choose the 3-hour tour which I recommend as you get to see Christ Church with a self-guided audio tour and can spend as much or little time as you want for that last hour.

    Good overview of Oxford

    Michael_M, Jun 2026
Good overview of Oxford. I debated b/w the 1.5 / 2 hour and 3 hour and the 3 hour extended adds the Christ Church which is the last hour and if you go on your own the tickets are around 30 pounds and sometimes difficult to get. Afterwards I think the 3 hour was worth it. It also included a very good audio headset.

    Great Tour!

    Tess_B, Jun 2026
We only had about 6 hours in Oxford and knew we couldn’t see all the colleges. This tour was perfect as we were able to see a good bit of the colleges and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. We were happy we didn’t try to visit Oxford on our own as we would have missed so much!

We had an absolutely wonderful time exploring Oxford's rich history and stunning architecture. We truly enjoyed every moment of the tour and are especially grateful to Will for his insightful guidance and friendly attitude. Thank you so much for making our visit memorable!

Sam is an amazing tour guide!

    Kathryn_U, Jun 2026
Our tour guide Sam's extordanary knowledge of the university was beyond amazing! His ability to communicate while involving all of us made is feel connected to Oxford. We all were highly engaged in the make up, traditions, and environment of the university and walked away fully understanding the gift that this esteemed university gives to the world! We recommend Sam highly for your tour guide....he was BEYOND exceptional. Virginia and Georgia sends their appreciations!

    Outstanding Oxford Tour

    Brad_N, Jun 2026
We had an outstanding experience on our walking tour of Oxford University led by an alumnus. It was filled with history and interesting information. We learned a lot about the town, university, individual colleges, and noteable alumni. The Christ Church add-on was worthwhile.

    Fun colleges tour

    Dana_Q, Jun 2026
Great tour in Oxford. We were lucky to have Will as our guide. Extremely funny, passionate, and informative. I would recommend this tour if you’re ever in Oxford.

Oxford university walking tour with Chirst Church

    Marianne_B, Jun 2026
Very informative and well done tour. A lot of historical content but also answered questions about how Oxford University currently and the different colleges etc. Very interesting insight from a PHD student. Shre was interesting, candid, and had immense historical as well as current knowledge about Oxford university. Thoroughly enjoyed this tour.

    Totally worth it!

    Heather_C, May 2026
Will was a great guide with tons of inside knowledge and plenty of history facts! I truly believe had I had another guide I wouldn’t have enjoyed it as much. As lovely as Oxford is, Will made the difference and rolled with the schedule working around exams.

    So much history!

    Courtney_B, May 2026
We had a PhD graduate give our tour and he was absolutely incredible. Shout out to Sam for a perfect two hours learning as much as he could possibly tell us. You cannot come to Oxford, and not hear about all of the colleges, the traditions, and the famous and infamous people who attended Oxford and have shaped history for over 1000 years. Thank you for a great tour and a wonderful time visiting this vibrant city.

    An absolute Joy

    llwhomes, May 2026
The history was fascinating, but the extra little stories that our guide, Will, told us made the whole experience come alive. University is so unique, especially coming from the states.

Totally disappointed ... I wouldn't recommend it to anyone anymore ...

    diel_b, May 2026
Hello, I am very disappointed with the event that took place... Of the listed itinerary, we were unfortunately only shown half of it ... Booking Summary Date: May 13, 2026 Extended Oxford Tour: 11:00 Travelers: 2 Adults Duration: 3 hours (approx.) Language: English Booking Number: 1390255729 As an example… the following activities were not carried out… - Bodleian Library / 10 minutes / Admission included - History of Science Museum / 5 minutes / Free admission - Bridge of Sighs / 5 minutes / Free admission - University Church of St. Mary the Virgin / 5 minutes / Free admission - Radcliffe Camera / 5 minutes / Free admission I really ought to get my money back... I paid a considerable amount for this event, € 187.86 for two people, to enjoy all the activities you offered ... I even made a special trip all the way from London to Oxford just for this ... I am extremely disappointed and that is precisely why I am leaving this review. I also raised this issue at the Tourist Information Center in Oxford, but I was told that I have to direct my complaint to the tour operator, as the staff there are not responsible for the matter. The entire itinerary is posted here ... 1. Balliol College Reputed to be the oldest college at the University of Oxford 5 minutes / Free admission 2. Trinity College One of the most beautiful colleges at the University of Oxford, dating back to 1555. 10 minutes / Admission included 3. Exeter College Founded in 1314—notably famous for the fact that Tolkien was a student here. 5 minutes / Free admission 4. Hertford College With a history dating back to 1282, this college is considered one of the most progressive in Oxford. A great opportunity to experience the typically unhurried pace of life in Oxford. 5 minutes / Free admission 5. Magdalen College Founded in 1458, this is the largest college in Oxford. Boasting incredible grounds, it even features its own Deer Park. Home to C.S. Lewis and Oscar Wilde. 20 minutes / Free admission 6. History of Science Museum Famous for housing Albert Einstein's blackboard, complete with the markings he made during his lecture series in Oxford. 5 minutes / Free admission 7. Weston Library A dramatic example of Brutalist architecture, contrasting sharply with the quintessential Victorian Neo-Gothic style for which Oxford is renowned. Home to over 5 million books—including some of the most significant in human history—it features a stunningly modern interior following an extensive renovation. 5 minutes / Free admission 8. Martyrs' Memorial Often overlooked, yet arguably the most significant religious site in Oxford. It stands as a solemn reminder of the dark conflict between Protestants and Catholics in England, which resulted in many brutal deaths. 5 minutes / Free admission 9. Sheldonian Theatre Completed in 1669 by Sir Christopher Wren. This is where the University of Oxford’s most important ceremonies take place. 5 minutes / Free admission 10. New College Often—mistakenly—considered "new" despite dating back to 1379; it served as a key model for all subsequent colleges. 5 minutes / Free admission 11. Bodleian Library One of the most important libraries in England, built in 1602 and home to over 12 million books and documents dating back to the era of the Pharaohs. 10 minutes / Admission included 12. Bridge of Sighs The most photographed site in Oxford. 5 minutes / Free admission 13. Radcliffe Camera The most famous site in Oxford (the one you typically see on postcards). Certainly worth the hype, though it serves a very different function than most people imagine. 5 minutes / Free admission 14. All Souls College The most exclusive academic institution in the world, home to "Lawrence of Arabia" and some of the finest traditions at the University of Oxford. 5 minutes / Free admission 15. University Church of St Mary the Virgin The epicenter of the University of Oxford, grounded in its religious foundations. It is also home to some of the most intricately detailed grotesques in Oxford. 5 minutes / Free admission 16. Merton College With a reputation as the most academically rigorous college—and a founding date of 1264—it is an essential stop on any tour of Oxford. Renowned for serving exceptional food to its students! 5 minutes / Free admission 17. Christ Church Meadow A unique spot in the heart of Oxford with strong ties to *Alice's Adventures in Wonderland*. 5 minutes / Free admission 18. Christ Church Christ Church is one of the most famous colleges in Oxford. It is nearly 500 years old and boasts a truly impressive collection of buildings, as well as strong ties to *Harry Potter* and *Alice in Wonderland*. Before you enter, your guide will provide a comprehensive external overview of the college and its grounds; you will then be equipped with a multimedia audio guide, allowing you to explore the expansive grounds at your own pace. We recommend allocating one hour for this—after which the experience concludes. 1 Hour / Admission Included   19. The Divinity School The first purpose-built lecture hall and one of the finest examples of medieval architecture in Europe. It is no wonder that it was used as a filming location for *Harry Potter* and other Hollywood movies! Explore this renowned ceremonial building in the company of those who have actually participated in its ceremonies! During peak season (June–August), access to the Divinity School is extremely limited due to frequent closures and high demand, and therefore cannot be guaranteed as part of the tour. While some companies may claim otherwise, we prefer to be honest rather than risk disappointment on the day of your visit. If the venue happens to be closed on the day of your tour, we will substitute it with admission to another university college. 5 Minutes / Admission Included Thanks and Regards Daniel Berwanger

Excellent tour by former graduate student at Oxford so you got the inside scoop on what it was like studying there! I’d encourage you to take the extended tour with Christ Church College.

Great walking tour of key sights. Moderate walking with breaks to sit.

    anywang, May 2026
Moderate amount of walking to see key sights in central city Oxford. Good balance of free time at a few of the sites. Ricardo does an excellent job of telling us about the sites, relevant points, and history. He also answered everyone’s questions. Would highly recommend having him as your tour guide.

The reason I bought this tour is because I thought we get a guide for all parts of listed attractions. The description also says around 3 hours but the whole tour was only 2 hours. We were dropped off at Christ Church with our own tickets to go in (I could’ve purchased tickets myself). This was around 1pm. The students’ lunch hour doesn’t end until 2 so we were stuck in there waiting for an hour until they finish lunch to see the Great Hall. I feel like the starting time could’ve been set to later so we go in when the Great Hall is available to tourists. It would be nice if we also have a guide
