For 56 years, the beautiful 116-acre property was a public golf course, dotted with 100-year-old oaks and towering sycamore trees. After falling on hard times, the golf course closed. We had a vision to revitalize the land and create something incredible that would also enrich the lives of the surrounding community, and thus, Monserate Winery was born. We have been hard at work to bring this vision to life since 2016 and have made a lot of progress. Today, Monserate’s San Diego county wineries boast breathtaking vineyards, tranquil lakes, and spectacular scenery. My girlfriend was coming to visit her son and new grandchild. I was so excited when she invited me to come with her to San Diego, CA. It was also her birthday and what better way to celebrate her birthday than with her grandchild. I decided to check out the different excursions they have to offer while in San Diego. I chose the San Diego walking food tour and Ferry to Coranado Island. I'm warning you don't eat because you will not be able to enjoy all the delicious food you'll partake. All the food was included in the price. Maria owner of MM Tours was our tour guide and she didn't disappoint she was very informative about old and new San Diego. Maria kept us on our toes and she really showed us a good time. Maria is so funny and and down to earth with an awesome and bubly personality. And we all fell in Iove with Coranado Island. There is a beautiful boutique called Miss Match Boutique make sure you take a look inside. The Fish Market was our first stop on our food tour. Then we took a ferry over to Coronado Island where we enjoyed delicious authentic Greek cuisine. We took the 2nd ferry back to Seaport Village. We walked off most of the food and made some space in our stomachs. Our 3rd food stop was Crack Taco Shop. I enjoyed a pork al pastor taco. It was banging my girlfriend Lele the birthday girl had the Bahia grilled shrimp taco. The food was very flavorful and filling. Maria took us to our 4th food stop Seaport Fudge Factory we enjoyed our choice of dessert. I decided to try the Vegan dole soft serve peach. It was so refreshing and my girlfriend Lele the birthday girl had the vanilla bean cheesecake. The next time you take a trip to San Diego take the food tour with Maria aka MM Tours. You will have a wonderful time.

Great time!

This experience was such a fun and memorable way to celebrate our anniversary while exploring the history of San Diego and discovering several of the amazing restaurants downtown. We enjoyed learning interesting historical facts and stories, and sampling food from a few local spots all in one outing. It also turned out to be a great opportunity to meet and chat with people visiting from other states, which made the experience even more enjoyable and unique. Our guide, Aparna, was knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely funny, and she did a wonderful job making the tour both entertaining and memorable from start to finish. Highly recommend!

Food amounts were just right, recommend skipping the meal before going or keeping it light. Good tips on cool things to check out after the food tour (speakeasy, actual Irish pub, whiskey house). Doug was fun, informative, friendly, and we really enjoyed the native San Diegan perspective on the history of the area.

Great intro to Tijuana

This was the perfect introduction to Tijuana. Our guide Marisol was wonderful. We were escorted through border and then took a bus/van into the city where we did a walking tour, lunch at a great taco place, walked through open air markets, and to a tequila tasting and candy store to tastes candied orange peel and pineapple. Marisol was very knowledgeable and easy to hangout with. We felt safe and were taken to mom and pop stores that were very helpful in finding god souvenirs. I would recommend this tour for anyone checking out Tijuana for the first time.

This activity was very worth the money the food and drinks was unlimited and they had a lot of options to eat. We had an assigned table and server but everyone was helpful and welcoming and they had upper levels we could go out and look at the ocean. My only suggestion would be the chicken and beef was a little dry. Overall a good experience

Paul Anthony is the best!!

Paul Anthony was the BEST!! We had a drive from Coronado and he filled it with great info on the areas we went through and the history of San Diego. He was fun, engaging and took pics fir us! 5 Stars for him. 🌟 The wineries were beautiful with great views. The charcuterie at one and pizza with home made breadsticks at the other were wonderful.

1. On the day, Marisol, the lady helped gather all attendees. 2. Marisol guided us how to walk across the border. 3. Once crossed the border, you will meet someone from Border Tour (in Tijuana). My trip was led by Tadeo. 4. Tadeo led us to birria restaurant, then Jal Alai and the nearby stores, had a quesadilla, cathedral. Then, fish taco to end the trip. 5. Tadeo led us to the border and gave advice on the process. 6. Once crossed border and bags checked, toilet trip, I was back to US.

This is a good tour to be acquainted with the Gas Lamp quarter. You will be full by the end and will have a good idea of to do on your own. Lydia L from Sidewalk Tours was a great host and provided a brief history of the area, we also walked through Horton Grand Hotel. Our favorites were the Cuban restaurant and the Cali Cream at the end.

Playing Tourist for the Day!

Best Tour

I had a wonderful time on my tour of Tijuana. Victor our guide was excellent, I was beyond impressed with his knowledge of the history and culture. The food was amazing!!! Best street tacos. The tequila tasting was very fun. It was safe and easy to get around. Definitely recommend this tour if you're curious about the border city.
