Recife Self-Guided City Walking Tour & Scavenger Hunt

Recife's old town sits where two rivers meet the sea — and this hunt takes you through the history that grew up around that meeting point. This app-led scavenger hunt takes you through Recife on foot, using phone-based riddles to guide you from one landmark to the next. No guide, no fixed start time. • Stand at Marco Zero, the symbolic ground zero of Recife Antigo and the point from which all distances in the city are measured • Walk the legendary Rua do Bom Jesus, one of Brazil's oldest streets and the former centre of Dutch colonial trade in the Americas • Visit the Igreja da Madre de Deus, a baroque church that has watched over the waterfront since the 17th century Available in 24 languages including English, French, German, Spanish, Italian — see the full list when booking and choose yours when you start the game in the app. Around 2 hours - any group size. Where the Atlantic meets the rivers, Recife's story begins — and this tour tells it from the start.

Recife Region Tours and Stand Up Paddling

City Tour: Recife and Olinda (Pernambuco State – Brazil) Enjoy a wonderful tour visiting one of the oldest cities in the Americas (founded in 1535). On this tour, you will visit the highlights of Recife, a city colonized by the Portuguese and the Dutch, also known as the "Brazilian Venice" due to its vast number of canals and bridges. We will visit old Dutch sites such as the Dutch Walls and walk along the historic Jewish Street (with the option to visit the oldest synagogue in the Americas). Next we will visit OLINDA, a beautiful Portuguese-style town built over seven hills with breathtaking views, old Baroque colonial churches, historical houses, local craft shops, and cachaçarias, where you can try the famous local drink made from sugar cane. Optional: Stop for lunch to sample local dishes prepared with international flair (at Restaurante Oficina do Sabor or Beijupirá). It will be a pleasure to help you discover these cities! Join me on this beautiful experience! Best regards, Leo
