Top Malindi Bird Watching in 2026

Float, don't paddle. Most mangrove tours put you in a canoe or kayak. This is Watamu's only true floating experience — lie back, breathe, and let the tide carry you. Nothing else on the coast feels like it. More than a trip — a real connection with nature. An adventure that teaches you about Mida Creek, its mangroves, and the rich life within. Your instructor shares insights into the ecosystem and why this place is one of Kenya's most precious natural treasures. Safe and welcoming for everyone. Non-swimmers, swimmers, families, and children all enjoy this equally — soft floating noodles do the work for you. A rare kind of stillness. No engines, no crowds, no rush — just clear water, mangrove canopy, birdsong, and the quiet wonder of drifting through one of Kenya's most beautiful sanctuaries. Memories that linger. Most guests describe it as the most peaceful and meaningful hour of their Kenya trip — a calm, grounding moment they carry home.
