Enjoy a guided community tour of Masindi - a small town that boasts numerous tour attractions, most notably, the mighty Murchison Falls and surrounding vast wildlife. This tour brings you closer to the indigenous people and allows you to witness life in a typical community in rural Uganda. Visit the local community centers and volunteer where possible, meet locals at their favorite hangout places, go experience shopping at the village market and try out our local cinema. When you get hungry, there are lots of options for you to try the local cuisine - from the street food vendors and local restaurants too. Finally, we shall take a walk down memory lane when we visit Uganda's first Hotel built in the 1920's to learn about the adventures of Ernest Hemingway. Come experience Uganda through local eyes.

Book this private two day tour that visits Murchison Falls from Masindi. You’ll be driven in a 4x4 Safari Van from Masindi Backpackers Hostel to the falls. Here you’ll take a waterfall cruise on the Nile. You’ll hear the thundering roar of Murchison Falls and feel the mist on your face. Your guide and driver will take care of all the logistics for you so you can just enjoy the experience.

Unlike a typical game drive, this experience puts you on the ground—literally. Accompanied by armed rangers and expert guides, you’ll walk through open savannah and bushland in search of southern White Rhinos. Along the way, you’ll learn about Rhino behavior, tracking techniques, and the conservation efforts that brought these incredible animals back from extinction in Uganda. Once a Rhino group is located, you’ll observe them from a safe distance on foot—watching them graze, rest, or move through the grasslands. The silence, proximity, and raw presence of these giants make this a powerful, unforgettable moment. Ziwa is also home to other wildlife such as bushbucks, waterbucks, monkeys, and over 300 bird species, making it a well-rounded nature experience—even in just half a day.

Your tour is special because you get to explore amazing places with friendly local guides who know the area well. You’ll see beautiful nature and wildlife up close, enjoy a smooth and easy trip, and have a great time every step of the way. We make sure your experience is fun, safe, and unforgettable.
